:) This place tastes like home. My family is from HK. I didn't grow up there...but the flavors sure reminded me of home cooking!

    Keep up the great work!

My group and I chose this place on a whim as a last stop before heading out of town and we found this place because of the simple menu and cheap prices. We drove to this place to find that it's in the middle of a plaza that has a ton of storefronts that I'd be definitely interested in trying such as Pepper Lunch and 85 Degrees Bakery.

I ordered a Hainan chicken dish and the rest of my group ordered only two other dishes. The majority of the table ordered the Szechwan beef noodle soup. And then a few people ordered either the shrimp and pork wonton noodle soup or the pork and shrimp dumpling noodle soup. That is my one complaint is that the wonton noodle soup and dumpling noodle soup sound so similar and when we asked for an explanation, we were just read the names again.

The Szechwan beef noodle soup was too spicy for me but the beef that I tried was so good and they were given a lot of beef with their dish as well. The chicken was so good though and the rice was so well seasoned. I also really enjoyed the taste of the sauce they gave us to dip in.

I'd definitely come back to eat again next time I'm in town!

What a great find - we stumbled on both the restaurant and the plaza (directly across from the main/old Chinatown plaza).

What made me jump onto Yelp - more so than just reviewing the food - was the service. Our waiter, Yuan, had a smile on his face and made us feel awesome ordering our food (for two of us, we ordered four dishes, and no judgement was passed...). He was accommodating, pleasant, and helpful and easily earned himself a 22% tip.

The food was unpretentious and exactly what you should expect from a well-run mom-and-pop cafe. Wonton soup had a good broth, and the wontons were delicious (ask for the spicy oil to go with your wontons!). The Shanghai beef noodle soup also had a great stock. The salted chicken hit the spot, and the peanut in pork knuckle was perfectly cooked.

    We'll be back!

Location: Shanghai Plaza in Chinatown Las Vegas

Parking: for now, there is adequate parking since the complex is not fully filled with tenants

Food: chicken with Hainan rice is awesome. Since it's the rice that carries the dish, the aroma is taste makes you comeback for it. Outside of Singapore, best one yet. Shrimp wonton noodle soup was light yet flavorful. Loved the extra thin noodles.

So so happy I got some traditional Chinese food while I was in Vegas. It was my first time wandering over to the Chinatown area and it's huge! 88 Noodle Papa is in the opposite plaza of the big one with the gate. There's a bunch of tea and dessert shops in this plaza and it's tucked in a corner. The inside is just simple and plain but the staff was very nice and spoke English and Chinese. The menu has a lot of noodle dishes as expected but also some rice platters and great appetizers as well.

I started with some refreshing spicy cucumbers. Very light and definitely opened my palette. Then I tried my guest's HK style wonton noodle soup. It was really light and not heavily salted. I loved it. Big pieces of shrimp in the wontons and lots of noodles too. The Hainan chicken was a little bland but not bad. It was very tender and juicy. I loved the coconut infused rice. It was delightful and very fragrant. A nice generous portion too. It came with 3 sauces, my favorite was the garlic ginger sauce. I definitely recommend this place.
